Penelope Doremus is a mental health counseling intern who believes healing works best when we consider the whole person: mind and body. She integrates evidence-based counseling approaches with principles of integrative and functional nutrition, informed by her Functional Nutrition Certificate of Practice.
Her goal is to help clients move beyond quick fixes and gain a deeper understanding of the factors that contribute to how they feel emotionally and physically.
Penelope’s journey to counseling began as an elementary and special education teacher. Through that work, she witnessed firsthand how early experiences shape the way individuals relate to themselves, others, and the world. That foundation continues to inform her compassionate, whole-person approach to care.

As an intern therapist, Penelope provides services under clinical supervision. She is committed to ongoing learning and professional development to ensure clients receive thoughtful, ethical, and well-supported care.

Outside of work, Penelope enjoys spending time with her family, reading, playing the piano, and writing.
