I’m a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I specialize in medication management for various diagnoses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, mood disorders (including bipolar disorder), ADHD (both children and adults), PTSD, Insomnia, OCD, adjustment disorders, behavioral problems, and I offer services both telehealth and in person, whichever suites your personality and comfort level best.
Whether you are new to seeking the assistance of medications with life’s stressors or have trialed and failed several mediations in the past I’m here to work through your treatment options with you. I strongly prefer that we obtain your past medication records from your previous provider as an important tool in the decision making of the correct treatment options moving forward. I have an emphasis in working with children (ages 6 & up), adolescents, and young adults but have experience with helping people of all ages throughout the lifespan.
My background includes working in an array of mental health settings with ages 5 years through 98 years! My experience includes outpatient medication management for all ages, Inpatient psychiatric units of varying acuities and diagnoses, detoxification of multiple substances, Ketamine and Spravato administration, and rounding in multiple long-term care facilities for management and reduction of polypharmacy with the geriatric population. I’ve assisted children and adolescents with negative behaviors, intrusive thoughts, or those struggling to focus and concentrate at school or home. I’ve also helped young adults experiencing first life events, such as college, moving out on their own, beginning careers, or hardships within their relationships. Middle-aged individuals have sought care for situational events like divorce, marital problems, job loss, or everyday acute challenges that occur. Older individuals look for a helping hand and support though death of partners or loved ones, accepting terminal or inevitable diagnosis, and the adjustments that go along with aging. Additionally, I have been a nurse for 20 years working in various areas from long term care, assisted living, hospice, clinics, surgery, and the role of director of nursing, all leading me to find my passion in mental health.
My treatment approach is to work with you to get to the root cause of what’s burdening you, causing your symptoms. That may include events from childhood, past, current or future. I provide you with your options based on my knowledge and education so that together we can create a mutually agreed upon plan that best fits your lifestyle. I strive to actively listen and empower you with necessary tools and resources to make your life meaningful with purpose and quality. I’m non-judgmental and accepting of all individuals. I’m devoted to making everyone feel comfortable and never fear or be held back from receiving mental health treatment. My goal is to provide a safe space for those seeking help, following up routinely or staying consistent with your medications, as painless as possible!
When not working you can find me reading or researching. I’m always looking to learn about new treatment approaches, medications, and staying up to date with anything mental health related. I soak up all the time I can get with my three children, son in law and pets. I enjoy traveling anywhere warm with my family. I’m also an avid plant lover and enjoy collecting and growing various plans. I’m eager to help you live a better life!

Hi! I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner licensed in Iowa, Texas, Wisconsin, and Maryland. Driven by the belief that mental health is just as vital as physical health, I have dedicated my career to advocating for accessible, compassionate, and stigma-free mental health care. I provide virtual appointments to adults struggling with anything related to depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, substance misuse, panic, bipolar, ADHD, and more.
I have a lot of personal and professional experience that I bring to my patients to provide thorough and compassionate care. Personally, I have seen first hand how mental health and substance abuse can impact a person, their relationships, and family. Professionally, I bring a diverse background in behavioral health nursing, including roles as an Intensive Care Unit RN, Psychiatric/Forensic RN, Child/Adolescent Psych RN, Acute Inpatient Adult/Geriatric Psych RN, and serving patients in various outpatient settings. These roles have deepened my understanding of trauma, mood, psychotic, depression, and anxiety disorders, and prepared me to meet patients with both clinical expertise and heartfelt compassion. It is my honor and passion to be working with adults from various backgrounds, experiences, and mental health symptoms.
As a PMHNP, I am proud to stand alongside those navigating mental health challenges, offering evidence-based care and unwavering support. I am firmly dedicated to a holistic approach to mental health, with additional focus on the evidence-based pharmacological treatment of Alcohol and Substance abuse disorder. I am also a member of the National Alliance for Mental Health (NAMI, Texas chapter), advocating for the children/adolescent age groups and the LGBTQ community, a reputable member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS, Minneapolis chapter), an active Suboxone certified (X-waivered) under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA), and uphold the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors’ (NAADAC) mission statement of guiding and empowering addiction-focused clinicians.
Outside of work, you will find me spending time with my husband, keeping up with my 3 adult kids (all in colleges in Texas), or diving into a good professional development book, fully embracing my nerdy side. I do love to find a good show on Netflix to Bingewatch, with my recent favorite being “Wednesday”. I also was a swimmer in college and still love to swim when I am able!
