About Elle

Elle Dykshorn is a Licensed Master Social Worker with experience working in middle and high schools as well as outpatient settings. She supports teens, young adults, and families navigating complex emotional and relational challenges.

Adolescence and young adulthood are transformative stages of life. During this time, past experiences can shape patterns that feel confusing or difficult to articulate. Elle helps clients explore how their history may be influencing the present and how different parts of themselves may be responding to current struggles with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relational conflict, or self-esteem.

Treatment Approach

Elle’s approach is warm, collaborative, and paced according to each client’s comfort level. She prioritizes creating a space where clients feel safe exploring all parts of themselves.

This may include getting to know protective parts that work to keep individuals safe, as well as vulnerable parts that carry pain. Through this process, clients develop deeper insight, increased self-compassion, and greater emotional flexibility.

Outside of work, Elle enjoys exercising, experimenting with new recipes, reading, and watching movies and television. She and her husband enjoy exploring new restaurants, traveling, and cheering on both the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones, except when they play each other.
